Bone Densitometry

Osteoporosis is a disease in which the body’s bones become extremely porous and brittle.  This is especially common in women following menopause.  Even though Osteoporosis is typically believed to be an issue only for women,  men are  prone to developing the disease as well.    It is important for patients to understand this disease in order  to help prevent bone loss.  A bone densitometry (DEXA) evaluation is a proven means of assessing bone loss in patients.
