Diagnostic Radiology
Diagnostic X-rays were the first images developed in the field of Radiology. They capture a picture of the inside of your body and serve as a quick and painless way to evaluate disease. Today, there are many diagnostic mechanisms such as a MRI, CAT-Scan and Ultrasound which assist in diagnosing conditions in the chest, bone, pelvis, sinuses, skull and spine. A minimal amount of radiation passes through your body during an X-ray, and should be of no concern.
Preparation for exam:
Depending on your exam, preparation varies. Please check with the facility prior to your appointment. If you are or think you might be pregnant, please inform your technologist before your procedure.
Length of exam:
Exam length varies from 5 - 15 minutes.
After your exam:
A Diversified radiologist will interpret your images and a report will be sent to your referring physician within 24 hours of your test.
