Fluoroscopy
Fluoroscopy is a form of diagnostic radiology done with a special piece of equipment called a fluoroscope. The fluoroscope enables radiologists to see the organ or area of concern via X-ray, with the aid of a contrast agent. The image can be viewed clearly on a screen as the agent flows through the body. Contrast agents enter the body by injection, swallowing or enema. One of our radiologists performs the entire exam, following the pathways of the contrast agent and monitors any unusual patterns for diagnosis.
Preparation for exam:
Depending on your exam, preparation varies. Please check with the facility prior to your appointment. If you are or think you might be pregnant, please inform your technologist before your procedure
Length of Exam:
Depending on the area of your exam, the time varies.
After your exam:
A Diversified Radiologist will interpret your images and a report will be sent to your referring physician within 24 hours of your test.
